Photoshop Tryptic

(click pictures to enlarge)

I can only describe my work as a collection of random chaos. The images I have collected really don't go with one another, but I think that is part of the appeal to my piece. I never started with a clear viewpoint of where I wanted to go with the images, but I kept getting newer and better ideas as I worked with each picture. I had a good laugh creating each montage, and I am very happy with the end result.

  1. When I saw these on screen in class the first thing I thought was, just utter chaos, but all held together by the framing borders. Because of this, I think these images work best separate, otherwise it seems the chaos vibrates too hard and loses itself and it's impact. Although you were going without much of a theme, I feel the words you selected introduce a mixture of first off 'covering the world' with everything you're 'splashing' into the picture, or rather it's something you see already as the world having been covered in. There's interesting depth and lines playing through that keeps the eye active and finding new things to see with each pass.

  2. The variety of images you chose is very interesting, it's like a mish-mash of modern images plus ones from various points in history (like the "Scream" person and the 1950s-looking woman). The colors really make my eye move around the triptych, although I think that they look better as the three separate panels, mainly because of the line made between the first and second panels.
